Development Tool: Dreamweaver
Originally designed as a web development tool, Macromedia Dreamweaver has gained popularity for developing base pages for online learning and reference materials. Media 1 finds Dreamweaver popular with clients who need to deliver courses that can be browsed quickly over low bandwidth connections with nominal (or no) use of plugins. By coupling Dreamweaver with Flash, it is possible to create dynamic and visually interesting interactive web based training to that delivered on CD-ROM.

Mopar Parts Department Procedures Guide Carlson Marketing Group This is a web-based reference tool for department managers in the Mopar Parts division of Daimler-Chrysler. It contains a dropdown menu to help the user locate parts department procedural information, and a troubleshooting advisor for problem-solving assistance. Award of Excellence. Society for Technical Communication, West Michigan Shores Chapter. BAAN Interactive Tutorials Herman Miller, Inc. Self-paced on-line training for furniture manufacturer Herman Miller, Inc.'s BAAN software rollout. The course highlighted how different team members would use the new BAAN software to perform work-related tasks. ServiceNet WBT Herman Miller, Inc. This course taught dealers how to use a custom web-based software package to broker deals. ELJF Media Hewlett-Packard Company Media is one of 11 modules in the extensive Elements of LaserJet Fundamentals (ELJF) course built for Hewlett-Packard call-center support technicians. Winters Group Media 1 is the authorized hosting partner for Rand E. Winter's on-line ISO course. ISO-9001 students used this interactive course as an introduction to ISO 9001/2000. The client provided the translated text, and Media 1 plugged it into the working tool, ensuring that all components still functioned properly. Wesco Web Site Wesco Wesco, a major Midwest gas station chain, needed a web site; what they didn't need was another boring cookie-cutter web presence. To meet this challenge, Media 1 created a highly interactive site that features Wesco history, corporate philosophy, a job board, chat--even the Dancin' Donut!
